Allan's bio:

Allan is a native White City resident and has lived most of his life in White City. His father grew up along 10600 South just west of what is now the Dimple Dell Rec property. His parents moved their young family to White City on Phlox Street in 1976. Allan was born the youngest of 6 kids in 1984. He attended Alta View Elementary, Eastmont Middle School, and Jordan High School. He has fond memories of swimming lessons at White Towers Swimming Pool, roaming the neighborhood on his bike, and exploring the wonders of the gully.

After graduating high school, Allan served a 2 year LDS mission in Brazil. He then proceeded to pursue a degree at Utah State University studying Landscape Architecture. During his university experience Allan took the opportunity to broaden his experience by studying abroad in Brazil, Slovenia, and even taking a short internship in India. This educational experience and background exposed him to different cultures and lifestyles and has helped him recognize the importance of community even in differing cultures and situations.

Allan received his bachelor degree in 2012 and then took a job as an Environmental Planner in San Francisco, CA. He worked out of state for 2 years and then decided to return to Utah in 2014, where he began working at a bank as a Loan Processor. In 2015 he purchased a home in White City on Zinnia Way - 2 blocks west of where his parents still live. He chose to purchase a home in White City because he loves the community.

It was during this time that White City had voted to remain independent and become a Metro Township. In 2016, White City residents had to vote to elect their first city council. Allan followed his desire to serve his community and filed as a candidate which turned into serving 2 council terms from 2017 through 2023. He is proud of helping White City transition into a Metro Township and now to a City. Some major accomplishments during Allan’s city council service are: opening the canal trail from 10600 South to Bear Park, going through the process of our first ever General Plan, and seeing Sego Lily transform with sidewalks, bike lanes, and improved street lighting. He also represented White City on the Unified Fire Authority board during his council terms, including 2 years as UFA Board Chair.

Allan continued to explore career paths and followed an opportunity to work more closely in the community as a Finance Clerk at White City Water Improvement District. He worked at the water office for 4 and a half years, from February 2019 through June 2023 before deciding it was time to pursue something different. He currently works as a Property Manager for a low income housing apartment complex in Midvale which is operated by Housing Connect. He is loving that job and seeing how secure housing and community can really help people flourish.

Allan met his wife Jessica in 2016 and they married in July 2017 including a backyard reception in White City at a close neighbor’s home where Allan spent many summer days working on yard projects as a teenager. Allan and his wife have a son, Artemus (usually called Archie), who is following his dad’s footsteps by starting Kindergarten at Alta View Elementary.

He is running for Mayor because he wants to see White City continue to maintain its strong community feel and provide fond memories for the next generation. He believes it is important to not only preserve the good we have, but to continually look for ways to meet the future needs of our residents in all stages of life.
